The monograph presents the research results on Russia’s and China’s science and technology development. The authors investigate theoretical foundations of the problem, methodological aspects of international comparison of scientific and technological potential. The authors make conclusions about Russia’s and China’s science and technology development. The article considers systems for stimulating research and development of these two countries, and presents prospects of their cooperation in science and technology.

The collection presents the materials of Russian–Chinese scientific and practical conference on the problems of development of Russian and Chinese territories, which was held in Vologda on November 28–29, 2019. Annually, Vologda Research Center of RAS and Jiangxi Academy of Social Sciences hold workshops and conferences in the context of cooperation. The purpose of the events is joint discussion of topical issues of the development of the regions of the two countries, sharing experience in solving urgent economic and social problems. The collection is intended for scientists practitioners, teachers, postgraduates and students, interested in problems of regional development, interregional and international cooperation.

The collection presents the materials of 11th Russian–Chinese scientific and practical workshop on the development of Russia’s and China’s territories on the topic “Economic and social development resources of Russia’s and China’s regions” (Vologda, October 10, 2017). The workshops are held annually in the context of cooperation between VolRC RAS and Jiangxi Academy of Social Sciences. The purpose of the events is a joint discussion of topical issues of the development of the regions of the two countries, as well as sharing experience in solving urgent economic and social problems.

The monograph was prepared by international team of authors in the context of cooperation between the Institute of Socio-Economic Development of Territories of RAS (Russia, Vologda) and Jiangxi Academy of Social Sciences (China, Nanchang). The book presents the development peculiarities of Russia’s and China’s regions, their common features, and national characteristics of regional development management. In particular, the work covers the main achievements, experience and problems of current economic development of Chinese and Russian territories, presents the development prospects of the regions of the two countries, and considers the issues of the government planning and regulation of regional economic development promotion of Russia and China. The book separately considers the economic growth problems of Russian and Chinese regions in the open economy, as well as regional development prospects of the countries on the basis of the regional cooperation. The edition is addressed to scientists, experts, specialists of national and regional authorities, and everyone interested in the regional development issues and their comparative assessment.
